
Carl Babler has been involved in the commodity futures and options markets as a broker, educator, and hedger since 1975. Raised on a dairy farm in northern Illinois, he brings deep production-ag experience to the clients he serves through Pinion Risk Management in Galena.
Carl earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville and completed agribusiness coursework at Harvard University. He stays closely connected to production agriculture as a Managing Partner of Lafayette Acres, Inc., a 1,700-acre farm near Cuba City, Wisconsin.
Carl has long been committed to education in commodity risk management. He taught at the School of Agriculture at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville for 17 years and continues to provide corporate education for agribusiness firms and agricultural lending institutions. He also leads a Comprehensive Commodity Marketing Class that has been offered in 29 locations across six states.
Carl enjoys sharing practical risk management experience with anyone whose business is impacted by commodity price volatility.
